Breaking new ground.

Good morning from Louis Green at Greentown Farms and the Greentown Flower Patch!

It was a very productive early March weekend.

2 Pan Disc, Farm equipment

I was able to use the old two pan disc to turn over the primary flower patch and about half of the sunflower patch.  The soil is nice and loose about 8” deep all the way across.  We are much closer to getting rows set up and planting our second round of flower seed.

I am looking forward to March 15th!  That is our last average frost date and the day that I hope to start sowing most of my flower seed.

I also sowed some turnips and mustards on the greenhouse site to provide a cover crop until we can get back to work on that.  Planting is always rewarding.

Greentown Flower patch has a goal: peak output of over 300 bouquets per week. So, that means that I am planning for 8000 flower stems a week starting in June!  It is a big plan, but I am confident that I can get them to grow!

Please follow our Greentown Flower Patch Facebook page to see our day to day operations!  There is much to do….

This is Louis Green,

 Love ya bye!
